Certificate of Theology

Program Description

The Certificate Program in Theology at Kajo-Keji Christian College is designed to contribute to the holistic formation and development of students, equipping them to engage in theological reflection on matters of Christian faith

This program aims to provide students with a solid foundation in theological studies, enabling them to think critically about their faith and apply theological concepts in practical ministry contexts

The curriculum is structured to foster both intellectual and spiritual growth, ensuring that graduates are well-prepared to serve effectively in their communities

Entry Requirements

A Student must satisfy the following entry requirements.

1.South Sudan Secondary school certificate to be passed atleast at 50-59%

2.English t S.4 level to be passed at least at 50%;

3. Recommendation letter from his/her pastor.

Objectives of Curriculum

To train and nurture theologians who;

  • Are God fearing and cultivate a deep understanding of Christian values;
  • Are technically competent, critical thinkers and effective communicators;
  • Understand that the Bible and Christian values are transformative instruments and promote their application in personal and communal life
  • Are aware of various methods of theological interpretation and development, both current and historical and its interplay with local cultures.
  • Have the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in church and related environments.
  • Are effective and practical in meeting the needs and issues found in their respective communities.
  • Are proficient practitioners of the ministry of the Gospel.

Learning Outcomes

After successful completion of the programme, students:

Spiritually 

  • Show a keen understanding od Christian values.
  • Demonstrate a sound spiritual way of life.
  • Respect values and apply Christian values to their own lives in the church and community
  • Show servant leadership, based on the model of Jesus Christ, in the church and community.

Academically

  • Have been introduced to the fundamental concepts and methods of biblical science, history of theology and church, systematic theology, pastoral theology and the study of non-Christian religions.
  • Exhibit an understanding of development of Christian through time and local culture.

Practically

  • Can work independently and also with others
  • Can apply historical critical approcahes to interpretation of Biblical texts.
  • Can anayse matters related to church and religion and act at local levels.

Specializations and Career Prospects

Graduates can explore an array of leadership positions and other advanced roles in church, private, public and non-profit organizations. 

Course Duration

Two Academic Years (4-semesters).
